Ibn al-Qayyim - رحمه الله - said:
"The prayer comprises of reciting the Qur'aan, dhikr, dua, and is fully inclusive of all forms of servitude in its most complete way. For this reason, it is better than solely reciting the Qur'aan or dhikr or dua, as the prayer brings together all of these (recitation of the Qur'aan, dhikr and dua) along with the servitude of the rest of the limbs."
